Discover West Auckland’s past at Mill Cottage
One of our key activities is the custodianship of Henderson's Mill Cottage, which is our headquarters, located on the historic site of Henderson's Mill.
The Heritage Centre at Mill Cottage is home to our specialised local history resources (library, archives etc.) together with several dynamic historical displays telling the local stories.
The ‘A kauri passed this way’ exhibition documents the area’s timber industry and includes striking models of Henderson’s Mill and a working driving dam.
Our Heritage Centre is open Saturdays from 11-00am to 3-00pm mid-January to mid-December (except for public holidays) and also by appointment.
Venue Hire
Henderson's Mill Cottage can be hired for meetings by organisations on weekdays and Sundays.

Group/School Tours
We are working to build volunteer capacity to enable group and school tours.
